An Inaugural Loading for BW Denise

BW Denise is the 1st Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) to load at a new facility at the U.S East Coast LPG dock.

On 21 March 2016, BW LPG’s Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) BW Denise inaugurated a new Very Large Gas Carrier facility and loading arm at the Sunoco Marcus Hook Terminal in the U.S. East Coast. Currently on a time charter with Geogas, BW Denise loaded 44,000 metric tons of propane and which took close to 40 hours.

Commenting on this milestone, Senior Manager of the LPG Operations team, Kevin Knott said, "Prior to calling to a terminal not previously visited, a careful appraisal for berth restrictions, limitations and acceptability has to be instigated by both the Marine and Operations departments. In the case of BW Denise calling at the Sunoco Terminal, Marcus Hook, it was particularly pleasing to note that the loading operations were effected in a safe and timely manner, itself a testament to the Master, Officers and Crew onboard."

BW LPG is pleased to have secured this opportunity and to be a part of the growing energy exports landscape in the U.S. We expect more vessels from BW LPG to visit the Marcus Hook terminal in the near future and we also look forward to many more ‘firsts’ within the growing LPG industry.
