Ensuring Safety and Zero Harm at BW LPG

Keeping a sharp focus on safety, onboard and onshore.

What does it mean to have Zero Harm as a priority in all that we do? It means that many initiatives are humming across our fleet and in offices, ensuring that we have our focus on safety. Whether on shore or onboard, there are activities planned around selected themes. We have monthly initiatives – winners for Zero Harm safety observation reports, Zero Harm photo contests,  and Marine Summaries discussing current topics of concern. We conduct drills onboard, with safety trainers assisting to ensure processes are followed and learnings discussed.

On shore, some colleagues underwent a First Aid course which included a rigorous coursework element, and also underwent a refresher course on media management.

During the course of the year, we also commemorated World Day for Safety and Health at Work on 28 April with a fleet-wide safety stand-down, and dedicated time to reflect on and discuss the importance of safety.

Zero Harm does not stop at the workplace. We hold Zero Harm Art Competitions annually, and in 2022, the theme was “Keeping Our Family Safe”. Children and siblings of employees were invited to contribute their version of Safety Posters, to remind themselves on how to keep safe at home.

There is nothing more important than safety. Because nothing else matters if we do not bring our team member home safe.
