Vessels
BW LPG is the world’s leading owner and operator of more than 50 Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs). These vessels carry Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), which are mostly propane or butane. The average carrying capacity of our VLGCs are about 81,000 CBM. Propane is cooled to -42 degrees and Butane is cooled to -4 degrees to be in a liquid state as they are transported in our vessels.
These vessels are capable of long-haul voyages, such as from the US to the Far East. These vessels connect global energy centers of demand and supply, and deliver cleaner-burning energy safely and sustainably. All our vessels are double-hulled, and we have 22 VLGCs retrofitted with LPG dual-fuel propulsion technology. When powered by LPG, these vessels offer our customers the lowest emissions profile in the sector.
