Commemorating IMO International Day for Women in Maritime

Throwing the spotlight on women in shipping

Celebrating the first IMO International Day for Women in Maritime

The maritime industry is one of the least visible engines powering the global economy. And women are one of the least visible components powering the industry.

On the inaugural IMO International Day for Women in Maritime, we shine the spotlight on the women amongst us. What do these women do? At BW LPG, women guard our financial health; maintain one of the world’s largest engines; manage talent, for shore and sea; retain onboard our vessels; ensure smooth voyages; and watch the market.

There are many other colleagues, men and women, holding many other roles and responsibilities. On this day, we take the opportunity to recognise and thank them for working tirelessly to deliver energy to world markets, safely and sustainably. We also reaffirm our commitment to foster a safe and equal workplace for women at sea and on shore, and to support a barrier-free working environment.
